Replit is the San Francisco company behind the browser-based development platform of the same name — and Replit Agent, the autonomous builder that takes a plain-language prompt and produces, deploys and iterates a working app end to end. Founded in 2016 by CEO Amjad Masad, Replit has aimed its agents less at professional engineers than at the 50M+ people — salespeople, marketers, students — who want to ship software without writing much of it.

Those agents reset the business. Annualized revenue climbed from roughly $150M at the end of 2025 toward a $1B run-rate target for the end of 2026, driven by usage-based agent pricing layered on the existing subscriptions, with users from 85% of the Fortune 500 on the platform. Agent 4, launched in March 2026, is pitched as roughly 10x faster than its predecessor.

Investors have re-rated the company sharply: a $250M round in September 2025 valued Replit at $3B, and a $400M Series D in March 2026 — led by Georgian — tripled that to $9B in six months. Backers include Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, Craft Ventures, Y Combinator and Google’s AI Futures Fund.
